Free Image Editing Software

Maybe you are happy with your audio editing software. There have been months and years where I have favorted Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or the very user-friendly Macromedia (now Adobe) Fireworks. In fact, there were nearly ten years where I did all of my web design work and other editing with Paint Shop Pro, what I still consdier to be a great product. But if you want to try some very capable and useful free editors for your digital stories, check out these two:

  • Paint.NET – Coming out of Washington State University originally, this free product is also worth consideration. Among other things, it includes some nice special effects for your photos.
  • GIMP – This open source product even has a bit of the look and feel of Photoshop. It might just meet all of your basic photo editing needs.
